Ararat Racecourse Address, Ararat Turf Club, Victoria

The history of the racecourse can be traced back to the mid-19th century when gold was discovered in the region. A huge platform was erected with materials left behind from the Aradale Hospital and is one of the most unique relics on any Australian racecourse.

The Ararat Racecourse has two feature race days; the Ararat Gold Cup, on the second Sunday in November, and the Willaura Cup, on the last weekend in April. During the November race meeting, prize money totals over $200K which makes these races very popular on the Victorian racing calendar. Visitors planning to attend the cup must book early, as the Gold Cup day attracts thousands of racegoers every year.

The course is an open track that spans 2 kilometres in circumference. So visitors who fancy thoroughbred racing, fashion, fresh food and great wine will thoroughly enjoy a day at the Ararat Racecourse one of the popular country racing meets.
