Hochkirch Wines

Hochkirch Wines is a vineyard that is located on the Hamilton Highway, 15 kilometres south-east from Hamilton.

The vineyard stretches out for an expansive 20 acres and the altitude of the property (250 metres above sea level) makes for the perfect location to grow the best vines in the Grampians.

The basalt loam soil coupled with the cold climate give Hochkirch Wines the perfect conditions to create some exceptional wines. Some of the products from Hochkirch Wines include the famous Hochkirch Steinbruch Pinot Noir 2014, Hochkirch Riesling 2015 as well as Shiraz. The award winning Hochkirch Maximus Pinot Noir 2012 is an award-winning wine whose savoury beetroot and earthy tones are effortlessly complemented by its mid-weight palate that leaves a mild bitterness.

At Hochkirch Wines, a visit to the cellar door can be made by prior arrangement. To get to Hochkirch Wines from Melbourne, use M1 towards West Gate Freeway and drive for about 70 kilometres to the exit towards Hamilton. From here, turn onto Hamilton Highway and drive for 140 kilometres. Take the exit towards Hamilton, and then the fourth exit onto Martin Street from where Hochkirch Wines is a few minutes’ drive.

Some of the attractions near Hochkirch wines include the iconic Grampians National Park, Brambuk National Park and cultural Centre as well as the Tumuli Lava Blisters. The parks are the perfect way to experience the natural sights and sounds of the region, and are ideal for the whole family.
