Grand Canyon

The Grampians’ Grand Canyon refers to an incredibly majestic gorge located within the Wonderland Range.

Getting here requires a 900-meter long circuit walk where bushwalkers will be treated to spectacular scenery and a waterfall during the rainy season.

No matter what the season or water level, visiting the gorge is highly recommended. The trek starts at the Wonderland Carpark, which is also the jump-off point for many other excellent walks including The Pinnacle, Venus Baths, Splitters Falls, and the Turret Falls.

The Grand Canyon walk has a moderate difficulty; despite the short distance, some stairs you’ll encounter are extremely steep. Much of the walk has signage, so there’s very little concern about getting lost.

For many, this walk is among the most interesting because of the diverse scenery you will encounter. It’s a favourite of many adults, as well as kids, who love the outdoors. The walk is also accessible, as there are strategically-placed handrails that provide you with guidance.

There is also the option to combine it with a walk that takes you to The Pinnacle Lookout. You’ll be able to get more great views out of your day when doing so.]

The Stoney Creek Group Campground, as well as the Borough Huts Campground, are both less than 20 minutes away, so hikers who want to rest for the evening have the option to do so here.

There are no entrance fees, and the Grand Canyon walk is ideal all year round.
