Taylors Lake

Taylors Lake is a reservoir that is located 20 kilometres south-east of Horsham and is used as a water source for the Grampians region. The water comes from the Wimmera-Glenelg headworks and also provides water to the Wimmera River.

Taylor Lake is very popular with residents in Horsham who come here for a range of fun activities. Swimming, fishing, powerboats, water skiing, jet skiing, camping are all permitted at the lake. Dogs are also allowed and there are toilets, picnic tables and a boat ramp.

For those wanting to come fishing here, you are likely to catch golden perch, as well as Murray cod and redfin. For those looking for a camping spot, camping and camp fires are permitted in designated areas only.

You can get to Taylors Lake via the Western Fwy and it is not far from Horsham. Head north for 3 km along Horsham-Wal Wal Rd then turn left into Fischers Rd. The car park is 3 kilometres along Fischers Rd on the left hand side and follow the signs.

    Planning on stopping here and camping on the 25th of November, we wouldn’t arrive until around 6pm. Do we need to book ahead or can we just turn up and camp in the designated camping area?
