The gardens were established in 1995, and its design was inspired by the ‘never failing spring’. As a result, the natural wetlands and stunning environment are alive and flourishing all year long. It features narrow gateways that lead you to a lake, and a gazebo located on the water’s edge is a great spot for picturesque views of the Grampians.

The lake of the Penshurst Wetland Gardens is filled with Swamp Cypress, which eventually will create a natural canopy above the footbridge that connects the many waterways. Aside from native Australian plants, the wetlands are also home to many European, Asian, and American plants.
