Kimbarra Wines

Kimbarra Wines is a must-visit destination for all wine lovers who come to the Grampians. This beautiful property is nestled at the foothills of the Grampians, with scenic rolling hills as a backdrop.

If you look back to the history of this winery, you will come to know about the Leeke Family.

Kimbarra Wines, Great Western, Grampians Winery, VIC

The Leeke Family started this winery back in 1978. Eric, along with his three sons, decided to plant their first vines on their property. Initially, they just had Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted, but later they expanded their vine varieties and planted Riesling and few other sparkling varieties.

Consistently, the winery has been able to win accolades and awards for its Riesling and Shiraz wines. In fact, they have also been able to receive a number of gold medals for both of these two wine varieties.

With an aim to produce quality and authentic tasting wines for their personal consumption, the Leeke family started the business. Gradually, their business grew and became a famous and modern vineyard in the Grampians.

To create a great tasting wine, the winemakers always carefully select their fruit and always choose their own estate-grown grapes for handcrafting their wines. Therefore, each of their wines showcase a strong varietal taste, elegant body and creamy texture.

The Leeke family also emphasises both viticulture and soil management processes in order to produce high-quality grapes on their vineyards. Hand pruning and hand picking methods are always followed at this vineyard, mostly to ensure lower yields and better quality fruit production.

Kimbarra Wines also boasts an onsite cellar door, available for tasting and tours.
