Stawell Airport

Stawell Airport is a public airport operated by the Stawell Aerodrome Committee and the Northern Grampians Shire Council.

Grampians Helicopters, which offers some of the best scenic helicopter tours in the area, takes off and lands from this airport. Meanwhile, scenic flights last from 30 minutes up to a full hour.

The airport itself has been upgraded over the last few years. In 2020, another grant has been approved for further safety upgrades at the airport. The latest improvement will include installation of vermin-proof fencing to prevent the entrance of wildlife, upgrading of the Taxiway Bravo to comply with Code B requirements, extending the apron parking area, and much more. These are to address the presence of kangaroos, which is the biggest safety threat in the airport.

Stawell Airport is conveniently located close to the city centre, two nautical miles southwest of town.
