With an extensive range of Australian animals, this picturesque Zoo is certainly a place worth visiting. The Halls Gap Zoo is the most popular man-made attraction in the Grampians region.

The Halls Gap Zoo is home to over 140 exotic and native animals, including rhinoceroses, giraffes, bison, alligators, kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, Tasmanian devils, cheetahs, meerkats, crocodiles, red pandas, farmyard animals, and more. Also, check out the daily up close and personal encounters with cheetahs, dingos, giraffes, meerkats, red pandas, rhinos, and lizards.

The Zoo also takes an active role in several breeding programs to save endangered species of Australian animals. Many volunteers work at Halls Gap Zoo to support and improve the Zoo.

Visitors are also allowed to get close to some animals and get involved in activities such as animal feeding. At certain times of the day, zoo keepers will also bring out various snakes for visitors to hold. Don’t be scared; these snakes are not venomous!

Special animal food may be purchased at the entry that can be fed to the deer, kangaroos, wallabies, goats, and Himalayan Tahr. Please note that feeding the animals is at your own risk. Hold the food with a flat hand below the animal’s eye level when feeding. Alternatively, place a small amount of feed on the ground,

Picnic and BBQ facilities are provided for your enjoyment within the playground area.
