Grampians Lakes

The Grampians is known for some of the best natural scenery in Victoria, this includes the many lakes and waterways dotted throughout the region.

Although hiking and rock climbing are popular activities for those staying in the Grampians, many also choose to visit the local lakes for camping and fishing.

Bird watching at the lakes in the Grampians is a popular activity enjoyed by adults and children alike. Other activities across the lakes include fishing, boating and swimming. Some of the Grampians lakes offer wonderful fishing opportunities; you will get a variety of fish species, including local favourites such as trout, blackfish and redfin.

Some of the most popular lakes and reservoirs are the Green Lake near Horsham, Rocklands Reservoir, Lake Wartook and Cherrypool on the Henty Highway. Many offer lakeside camping options where visitors can pitch a tent or park a caravan within sight of the river.
