The Cavendish Red Gum Festival is one of Victoria’s most exciting biennial events.
After the massive success of its inaugural event in 2018, this all-ages festival celebrates the iconic red gum tree through various art-centred activities that are both fun and educational.

Join on Fri Apr 12 at 7pm for an unforgettable evening at the Cavendish Soldiers Memorial Hall. Enjoy drinks and canapes whilst you immerse yourself in a celebration of the Red Gum environment through art, photography and our student gallery. The official opening will be by Festival Ambassador Professor Andrew Campbell, featuring multi-award-winning artist Ross Paterson, and the winners of art, photography & sculpture competitions will be announced. Come & help kick off what promises to be an event you won’t want to miss: the 2024 Cavendish Red Gum Festival!
The Environmental Forum is a major highlight of the Cavendish Red Gum Festival; it is well-attended by knowledgeable speakers and environmental groups. The theme for 2024 is ‘Man’s effect on our natural Red Gum environment” with the emphasis on regeneration agriculture and sustainable farming. The Festival Ambassador will be Professor Andrew Campbell as MC and an amazing line up of guest speakers.
The market will run on the Main Festival Day on Saturday from 10am – 4pm alongside a range of food and beverage stalls and close to the Red Gum Stage and Children’s Activities. From local honey, produce, art and crafts to furniture and specialty artisan wares, you will surely find something you can’t resist!
Families and children can look forward to many nature-based experiences at the Cavendish Red Gum Festival. There is no shortage of excellent food and wine for adults. If you’re feeling brave, you may want to take in a hot air balloon ride for a bird’s eye view of the majestic red gum trees.
