Rupanyup is a scenic country town located around 285km away from Melbourne, 50km from Horsham and 60km from Stawell.
Its name is derived from ‘rubunyup’, an Aboriginal term that refers to a tree by a campsite near a swamp. The town was established in 1870 by German and British selectors.

Other heritage sites worth visiting include the Masonic Lodge, Anglican Church, heritage-listed Primary School, and the local cemetery near Dyer Street.
Perhaps the main attraction of the town is the Rupanyup Silo Art; a decommissioned wheat silo with a large-scale mural created by Russian artist Julia Volchkova, which highlights the region’s youth and their passion for team sports.
