The presence of the garden helps locals, especially those who don’t have garden space of their own, enjoy better access to their own fresh and naturally grown produce. It also plays a role in beautifying the city, all while encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

Some of the produce grown here include strawberries, potatoes, pumpkins, chillies, zucchini, lettuce, beans, onions, edible flowers, and much more. The community can also add on and use the compost available to save money while growing their produce.

The Halls Gap Community Garden is thriving, which is evident in the numerous beneficial animals that live around here. These include frogs and bees, among others.

Volunteers help take care of the garden, and ensure that there are gardening tools available for everyone to use. A visit to the garden will show a vibrant community spirit as both kids and adults take turns tending to the produce and flowers.

If you have some time and would like to try your hand at gardening, why not volunteer at the site? They often look for more volunteers to help with tasks such as watering and weeding.
