The Hamilton Regional Livestock Exchange is a sale yard known for being one of the busiest in the country.
With over 50,000 cattle and a million sheep sold each year, the Livestock Exchange is held in high regard in Australia’s economy.

Lamb and sheep sales take place every Wednesday. However, during the peak season, which takes place from the end of November through March, lamb sales are on Wednesdays and sheep sales are on Thursdays. The end of November and December also means that there are five special lamb sales on Mondays, which start at 9:30am. Cattle sales are held every Friday, while yearly calf sales take place in January.The Livestock Exchange’s facilities include AVDATA and coin-operated truck washes that are open 24 hours, live weight scales, access to holding and water, amenities block with showers, air-conditioned canteen, modern cattle yards with some undercover, and a mixture of chips and sawdust as flooring.
The facilities also recently received an investment boost to upgrade its facilities. Some of the renovations included the roofing and truck delivery areas.
The Hamilton Regional Livestock Exchange is accredited with the European Union and the National Saleyards Quality Assurance. It is located at 105 Portland Road in Hamilton, Victoria.
