The Stawell Historical Society is an interesting museum that is dedicated to preserving the unique heritage of Stawell from the 1850s onwards.
Visitors will find an array of old newspapers, historical records, photographs, and many other objects that are used for educational and research purposes.

There are also some new displays; one of these is about the Stawell Railway Station since the town used to be a major railway hub from 1873 onwards. The other displays are about the Stawell Timber Industries and the Stawell Cycling Club History.
Stawell Historical Society also features living history videos, as well as tons of educational resources.
The museum is open from 11am to 4pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays – unless you have a special appointment booked.
