Though the Ararat Hill Climb stopped in 2002, locals thought that would cause the death of motorsports in the area.

By 2006, motoring enthusiasts formed the Ararat Car Club Inc to reclimb the hill. Drivers from all around Victoria and districts near Ararat come to participate in the thrilling event.

The course statistics are as follows:
Length: 1609m
Turns: 12
Type of Venue: Hillclimb
Surface Type: Sealed Bitumen
CAMS Approved Length (as of June 2014): 1200
CAMS Approved Turns: 8

In previous years, competitors have raced a whole range of vehicles up the hill, and some of them have reached the top in only 30 seconds.

For visitors on their way to the Grampians National Park via Melbourne, Ararat is worth staying a few days for the One Tree Hill Climb. Since it’s one of the last towns before your final destination, attending this event will give you a glimpse into the exciting world of the local motocross industry.
