During the cup, attendees can look forward to world-class harness racing with an array of attractions, including live music, reptile and animal petting zoos, a fairy floss machine, a punter’s club, and many kinds of kids’ entertainment.

Racegoers can also look forward to winning thrilling giveaways such as holiday packages, jewellery, and much more.

The event is culturally significant in the region because harness racing, locally known as the trots, is a popular spectator sport in the country, with huge sums of money wagered each year.

The sport involves Standardbred horses that are made to race around a track, pulling their drivers using a two-wheeled cart known as the sulky, bike, or gig. The Standardbred horses compete in pacing and trotting, hence the event’s name.

The Hamilton Pacing Cup is a terrific, fun way for community members and families to get together for a full day of exciting activities. It is organized by the Hamilton Harness Racing Club and is held at the Hamilton Racecourse on Ballarat Road.
