Lakeview Lookout

The Lakeview Lookout is an easy to reach destination offering breathtaking views of Halls Gap and Lake Bellfield in the Grampians National Park.

The walk starts at Sundial Carpark, which is located at the end of Sundial Road.

Lakeview Lookout Loop, Walking Tracking, Grampians National Park, VIC

Visitors should keep in mind to walk in a clockwise direction, though getting here is easy by following the blue dots that take you to the lookout point. You’ll come across a junction when you reach Devil’s Gap; one of the tracks will lead you to Lakeview Lookout, while the other one takes you to the Pinnacle.

Since you’re already here, it’s recommended to also check out the Pinnacle. Visitors with kids or less confident walkers may benefit from the gentler terrain. During the Pinnacle walk, you might encounter some wildlife such as kangaroos and koalas, as well as echidnas.

No matter which walk you decide to go on, it will be well worth it for the spectacular views of the Grampians you will be treated to. The best way to enjoy your hike exploring this area is to wear the proper attire, including trekking or rubber shoes, comfortable apparel, and sunnies or hats to protect from the sun. Shoes are the most important as there may be parts of the walk that require you to cross some rocks or bodies of water – depending on the time of the year.

Enthusiastic hikers may also want to check out the more challenging trail that takes you from the Wonderland Car Park to the Pinnacle. This route, in particular, is notorious for the massive boulders as you make the climb to the Grand Canyon, which many regard as the cousin of the United States’ famous canyon. When you get to Bridal Veil Falls, walk on to Silent Street and you’ll get to the Pinnacle Lookout.

There are no permits or advance bookings necessary to go on these walks.
