Nhill Lake

Nhill Lake is a scenic getaway ideal for a day or a weekend in nature. Its permanent water source is teeming with fish and though a bird hide is located not too far away.

This makes the lake an excellent place to go for fishing, especially for redfin and rainbow trout. For a successful fishing trip, be sure to pack power bait, scrub worms, mudeye, yabbies, and other soft plastic for bait.

Other amenities in the area include a boat ramp, BBQ area and a boardwalk. It’s a very peaceful area that takes you away from the hustle and traffic of the town, with lots of open space to recharge in.

Nhill Lake is actually a man-made lake, created in the 1960s, and these days many families and fishing enthusiasts frequent the area because it’s so relaxing. Even if you don’t go fishing, water skiing or boating, the amenities make it ideal for cycling, walking, and even running. It’s well-maintained thanks to volunteers from the Committee of Management.

For those who prefer to spend a night or more around the lake in Nhill, there’s a handful of cosy accommodation options to choose from. Campervan sites are located nearby as well.
