One Tree Hill Lookout

One Tree Hill Lookout is a popular spot in the Grampians, best known for its spectacular views of the region’s rugged landscape. From the lookout point, one can soak in views of the iconic Grampians National Park to the west and marvel at the outline of the imposing Mount Langi Ghiran to the east.

To the north lies the Black Range while the view to the south showcases the natural beauty of the vast plains that lie in the Western District. It is little wonder therefore, that this lookout is one of the must-visit spots while in Ararat. With all its scenic views, the lookout is also a wonderful location for photography.

Most people drive right up to the summit, or for those looking for a challenge, you can walk. From Ararat, the walk up to the summit is only 4.8 kilometres (each way). Alternatively, you can drive and park along One Tree Road and walk to the summit. However, the road is only narrow so walkers should be mindful to give way to passing cars.

There is a gravel carpark at the summit where you can sit and enjoy a picnic as you take in the beautiful views. Best at sunrise or sunset on a clear day, the One Tree Hill Lookout is a great place to visit during your stay in the Grampians.
