Grampians Camping

If you are looking for a holiday where you want to be out in the mix, then camping at the Grampians National Park is the perfect holiday for you. With the majestic hills, scenic rugged landscape and lush green woods, the Grampians offers many camping locations throughout the region.

The best part about camping is that you are so close to nature that you get to embrace the mountainous terrain each time you step out your door.

Grampians Camping Grounds & Accommodation Sites

Near the Grampians National Park, you will find a range of camping grounds with a number of public amenities. Many of the camp grounds include disability access, car parking, rest rooms and children’s play areas. The camping sites are unpowered and will accommodate one vehicle per site. Most sites will accommodate a large tent (6 people). If you have a need for a larger space, then you may need to book two adjoining sites.

The Staplyton, Plantation Smiths Mill, Borough Huts, Boreang, Jimmy Creek and Buandik camp grounds have some sites suitable for camper trailers or caravans. Please note that pets are not permitted inside the National Parks unless they are kept inside a vehicle.

Please ensure you check with Parks Victoria for the latest regulations on camping in the Grampians Region. Also check on weather conditions before you leave to ensure that your chosen caravan spot is open in the summer months, as Parks Victoria is very diligent with bushfire safety and will close certain parks if there are bush fires near by.

Whilst camping, why not take the kids on one of the many outdoor activities available such as hiking, mountain biking or swimming. You will come across a number of walking trails and hiking pathways which lead from the camping grounds which are clearly marked with signs. You will have a fantastic time spending time with your family at one of the Grampians many camping sites.
