To experience the splendid view that Stawell Gold Mine offers, walk along Reefs Road as it runs parallel to the mine’s entry and stretches for over a kilometre, allowing visitors to view the mine from a number of viewpoints. At the observatory area, visitors can listen to some audio commentary which tells the story of this very profitable mine and its mining history- both past and present.

This experience not only gives visitors a glimpse into what the thriving town of Stawell was like during the gold mining boom, but it is also an eye-opening experience, as gold mining attractions in Victoria are now quite rare.
