Solo male and female, mixed teams, junior, over 40, and over 50 categories are available, so no matter what your age and ability, there is an event at the Grampians Challenge for you.
Races typically begin at the Zumsteins Picnic Ground, though this may change depending on the year. The Zumsteins picnic ground is historically significant; it is named after beekeeper Walter Zumsteins who, in 1912, leased the government-owned land just next to the Mackenzie River. His vision of turning this area into a local paradise within the bush came true with his work of building tourist facilities in the area, and by 1984, it was recognised as part of the majestic Grampians National Park.
During the Grampians Challenge, most of the races will not be accessible to spectators but there will be great viewing spots that have been planned out at certain locations. Some of these include the Mackenzie Falls, Wartook Lake transition area, and the Boroka Lookout.
